Designer Lounge Wear meets Designer Showcase at the renowned Harwelden Mansion

We recently had the incredible opportunity to shoot our new spring line at The Harwelden Mansion, 2210 S. Main Street, home to the 46^th Annual Tulsa Designer Showcase and soon to be event center and boutique hotel opening in June.

The Harwelden was built in 1923 by oilman Earl Harwell and his wife, Mary. The four-story, 15,000 square foot mansion and carriage house, along with its grounds occupy a whole city block. Placed on the National Register of Historic places in 1978, and later purchased by Teresa Knox in 2018, the Harwelden has been undergoing an extensive restoration process in preparation for its grand opening in June.

Before opening however, it was the featured home of the 46th annual Tulsa Designer Showcase. 50 designers were able to bring their vision to life in this true landmark of Tulsa. Knox ensured designs were consistent with the architecture and time period of the mansion’s origin. “I wanted the look to align with the aesthetics and vision of the mansion’s future while honoring the past and making a difference in Tulsa’s education.”

You can imagine our delight when we were invited to shoot the spring line of JuJu Jams at this Tulsa treasure. We were honored to have three of the featured showcase designers model for us during our shoot: Brooke Cook (RED Design by Brooke), Lauren Johnson (Lauren Johnson Design) and Natalie Nirk (Natalie Nirk Interiors) in addition to our selected models.

From the chic redbud suite to the glamour of Mary’s chamber, JuJu Jams luxurious loungewear was the perfect complement to the history and romance of the mansion. The height of sophistication and elegance, we couldn’t dream of a better backdrop for our spring line. Pops of color enlivened our floral palette and made us all want to return for an extended stay in this magnificent mansion.

Feminine grace and masculine details were around every corner, providing plenty of space to relax and indulge the senses in a sea of textures. The suites had us swooning from the start and the transitional spaces were abundant in natural light, making it easy to showcase our beautiful pieces that allow you to unwind without losing that luxurious look. The garden room, sunset room and dining room were steeped with opulence and inspired us at every turn.

Tulsa is truly lucky to have this extraordinary gem as part of its rich history. We will soon not forget this one-of-kind experience shooting in the meticulously designed space and can’t wait to return as a guest!

The mansion would be an ideal location for weddings, corporate retreats, nonprofit fundraisers, art exhibits or musical performances. Individual rooms or entire floors can be rented. Six luxury bedroom suites are available to reserve for overnight guests. The gardens and landscape serve as beautiful surroundings with riverfront views.

Fun fact: Long Construction, of Kansas City, constructed the mansion in 1923. Long was also the builder of the world-famous Philbrook Museum Villa 4 years later.
